James Herbert Leach passed away on April 8, 2013 at the age of 93. Jim (Uncle Herb as he was known to his side of the family) was born to Herman and Myrtle Leach on May 25, 1919 in Erie, Pennsylvania. He is survived by his wife Norma, daughters Sherry Fair and Shawna Boor, son Terry Leach, grandchildren Melissa Fair, Cindy Moir, Chris and Samantha Leach and Ryan James and two great-grandchildren Julia and James Moir.
After graduating from College High in 1937 he attended Colorado State University and obtained a teaching certificate. He worked briefly as teacher before being drafted into the Army during World War II. After the war he used the GI Bill and received a BA in Economics and a LLB degree (law) from the University of Denver. Jim worked for many years as a special agent for the IRS.
A celebration of his life will be held at Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6601 So Colorado Blvd. in Centennial on Friday at 4:30 PM. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association or the American Stroke Foundation.
