On Monday, June 7, 2021, Jason Alan Troup – beloved son, grandson, brother, uncle, and dear friend – passed away at the age of 33 in a work-related accident in Denver, Colorado. Jason was born on August 28, 1987 in Atlanta, Georgia.
Jason spent his early childhood in Alpharetta, Georgia. He was a boy scout, where his parents were den leaders. He loved biking through the neighborhood, helping his Dad in the garage, and camping with the family. In middle school, his family relocated to Cleveland, Georgia where Jason spent his time roaming the woods of the family’s campground, riding four wheelers, and fishing. He ran cross country and was on the wrestling and soccer teams in school. He graduated from White County High School in 2005 and attended classes at North Georgia Technical College in Clarkesville, Georgia from 2006 to 2008.
Jason spent the last 12 years of his life in Denver, Colorado. He worked various jobs, including Sports Authority, Crate and Barrel, landscaping, and The Granite Guy. He used his free time to play disc golf, fly kites, go camping, hiking, snowboarding, and anything else to soak up the beautiful Denver landscape. He made countless friends that became his Denver family.
Jason will be remembered for his contagious laughter, his ability to make anyone smile, and his endless love for everyone he held dear. We will forever hold his precious smile in our hearts.
Jason is survived by his parents Rick and Alice Troup, his grandfather James “Art” Troup, his brother Michael “Mickey” Overholt, his sister Jessie Troup, nephews Bradley Foote and Christopher Overholt, niece Makenzie Overholt, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A service will be held on Saturday, July 3, 2021, at Hope Bible Church, 5706 North Hesperides Street in Tampa at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the Denver Rescue Mission in Jason’s memory.
