She leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and devotion to her family and community.
Kathleen was a devoted wife to Jerry Schwinkendorf, a loving mother to Amy, Michael, and Kelsey, and a cherished mother-in-law to Mollie and Taylor, whom she loved as her own. She was also a proud “Grammie” to Austin, Isabel, Charlotte, and Evelyn. Her family was the center of her world, and she showed her love in countless ways—through her unwavering support, her kindness, and especially through her cooking.
A retired elementary school librarian, Kathleen had a deep love for reading and learning, which she shared with generations of children. Her passion for nurturing others extended far beyond the classroom and into her church and community, where she was a constant and caring presence.
Kathleen was known for her incredible talent in the kitchen. She spent years catering for her church, family, and friends, creating everything from warm, welcoming ladies’ luncheons to beautifully detailed themed tea parties. She also made wedding cakes, each one crafted with care and love. For Kathleen, food was more than nourishment—it was a way to bring people together and make them feel cherished.
Her faith was an important part of her life, and she found great joy in serving at Skyview Presbyterian Church. What made Kathleen truly special was her selfless love—she gave freely of herself, always putting others first and making everyone feel valued and cared for.
She will be remembered most for her gentle spirit, her generosity, and the deep love she had for her family. To her grandchildren, she was “Grammie” through and through—a source of comfort, joy, and unconditional love.
Kathleen’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Skyview Presbyterian Church, 251 E Sterne Blvd, Centennial, Colorado 80122, on April 2, 2026, beginning at 1:00 pm.
