At the tender age of two, Kris wanted to be just like her big sister Kathy and take dance lessons. Together, they took ballet, jazz and tap lessons. Kris was involved in Brownies and Girls Scouts and participated in 4H working with ceramics and flowers. In high school Kris played clarinet and participated in the shot put and discus events for her school’s track and field team. During her teenage years, Kris worked at a variety of places including Burger King, Walmart, and Rite Aid. In her 20 years of service working for Walmart; Kris worked in locations in Michigan, Kentucky and Colorado.
In 1990, she graduated from Lake Fenton High School. In June of 1993, Kris earned an Associate Degree in Travel Management. Kris attended Murray State College where she studied Computer Information Systems. She became a state certified and licensed Optician in 2013 from Emily Griffith Technical College. Kris earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Administration in 2018 from Baker College. Kris received the distinguished honor of being voted Optician of the Year in 2013.
On August 2, 2003, Kris married Charles Daum in Grand Rivers, KY. Together they adopted their beloved dog, Stanley, in November of 2009.
In 2006 Kris was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic Church.
Always armed with a smile and a twinkle in her eye; Kris’s cheerful and kind personality endeared her to everyone she met. She had the incredible talent of sincerely touching the lives of those she met even if it was the simplest of encounters. A casual conversation with Kris about the weather could leave a person feeling happier and lighter because she always gave you 100% of her attention and focus. She truly cared about what you had to say. Her creativity came alive in a multitude of pastimes including scrapbooking, crocheting, knitting and sewing. Kris enjoyed exploring the world around her through hiking, traveling, and photography. She loved her family and friends and found great joy in spending time with them all. Kris is fondly called Krissy by her beloved family and friends, but she made it clear she did not enjoy having her name spelled with a “C.”
Kris is survived by her husband, Charles; parents, Bill and Berdie Foy; sister Kathy (Nick) Puckett; mother and father-in-law, Donald and Patty Stanley; brother-in-law, Chad Daum; four nephews, Brian (Morgan) Puckett and Tyler (Katelyn) Puckett, William and Joseph Daum. She is preceded in death by all her grandparents, several aunts and uncles, and her father and mother-in-law, Charles and Dorothy Daum.
