Matthew Wright Bahre, age 33, beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, April 6, 2019 in Centennial, Colorado. Matthew was born January 15, 1986 in Denver, Colorado to Robert and Laura (McConnell) Bahre.
Matthew graduated from Littleton High School before bravely serving his country in the United States Marine Corps. A natural leader, he obtained the rank of Sergeant and served two tours of duty in Iraq before returning home to his family. In 2007, Matthew married the love of his life, Lyndsie Ann Erickson and the couple had two children, Bailee and Owen. Matthew's true passion was his family and his greatest joy in life was being a father.
Matthew spent the last three years serving his community as a Sergeant for the Colorado Department of Corrections where he developed strong bonds with co-workers. Professionally, he will be remembered for his tenacious work ethic and the care he showed to those around him. Matthew was constantly learning and pursuing his dream of becoming a firefighter and EMT specialist- to better himself and his family.
Matthew was fearless. He would run into situations most would run from. Matthew was a good-natured, adrenaline junkie, who loved hiking, bowling, arcades and football, spending time in the gym, participating in Spartan races, and snowboarding with his buddies. He was the life of the party and had an amazing sense of humor. Matthew had the ability to meet people where they were- whether it was causing a good laugh, giving a hug, or providing a shoulder to lean on- he was there for everyone around him. He took care of people, through thick or thin, without fail. He will be deeply missed.
Matthew is survived by his wife, Lyndsie; his two children, Bailee Ann (8) and Owen Matthew (6); his parents, Robert Bahre and Laura (McConnell) Bahre; his grandparents, C. Dean Bahre, Patricia Bahre, and Wilbur Wright McConnell; his brother, Zach Bahre; his in-laws, David and Patricia Erickson; and numerous other family members and friends.
Matthew was preceded in death by his grandmother, Mary McConnell.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2019 at 10:00 am at Olinger Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6601 S Colorado Blvd, Centennial, CO 80121. Visitation will occur on Friday, April 12, 2019 from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Olinger Chapel Hill Mortuary, Centennial.
