I knew Mike through JR high and high school. He lived down the street from me walking/driving by most days. One year my mom decided to paint the house and since she worked nights, she would spend a couple of hours each day painting. At the end of the  school year Mike signed my year book saying "I hope you have a great summer, a great life and I hope to God your mom gets your house painted"

Barb and family, may the memories of your husband and father keep a smile on your face when the sorrow begins to lessen. Going to school with Mike always put some sort of laughter on my face. I’m so glad we connected on FB for so many years. RIP Mike🙏

Barb, I was shocked and saddened by the news of Mike’s Passing. It brought back memories of our friendship going back all the way to grade school at Lowrie Grade School through Abbott Jr High and Larkin.    Mikes dad driving us to downtown Elgin on Saturday Mornings to spend what little we had on whatever we wanted, then walking home when we ran out of money. Mike standing up at my (first) wedding and me standing up for his and your wedding. I’ll always remember the Grey Tuxes and my miserable attempt at the toast. 
All the times we played golf. Then the many many times I took him to the Airport and back during his traveling days. Even though I haven’t seen or talked to Mike in a number of years, the occasional back and forth on FB was a joy reminding me of his sense of humor. 
I’m sorry for your loss and Kathy’s and my thoughts are with you and the family. 

I am so terribly sorry to hear of Mike’s sudden & unexpected passing. Mike was a schoolmate of mine growing up in Elgin, IL. He was a kind & gentle soul. My best memories of Mike were from playing baritone together in band. It was a blessing to reconnect with him on Facebook over the last decade. I remember him telling me he was so excited that his kids surprised him a few years back with a baritone. He was so proud of that!  We always made a point of sending birthday greetings to each other especially because his birthday was only one day before mine. I felt like I lost a brother. My sincere & heartfelt condolences to Barb, his kids, & all who knew & loved him. So glad we were able to reconnect after so many years. And grateful I will someday see him again.
