After graduating from high school, Michael proudly enlisted in the United States Army, where he served his country as an Armor Crewman and later as a Chaplain’s Assistant. His time in the Army shaped his lifelong sense of duty, discipline, and service to others—values he carried with him for the rest of his life.
Following his honorable discharge from the Army, Michael worked various warehouse jobs before beginning a career with TCI Cable Company. Through company transitions to Comcast and later Xfinity, Michael remained a dedicated and loyal employee, proudly working with the same organization for over 30 years.
While stationed at Fort Riley, Michael met the love of his life, Dana, in February of 1986 near Aggieville in Manhattan, Kansas. They were soon married on October 4, 1986. They lived in Kansas, Illinois, Colorado, and Florida.
He loved attending NASCAR races, was an unwavering fan of the Chicago Bears, and an avid outdoorsman. Above all, he was a devoted husband for 40 years, a proud father, and a cherished grandfather. He always put his family first and did the very best he could with what he had to provide a comfortable life for those he loved.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Steve and Sue. He is survived by his wife, Dana Zellers; his brother, Roger Zellers; his sister, Stephanie Phillips; his children: Johnathan Huston, Michael Zellers Jr., Jennifer Zellers, Mindy (Zellers) Sanchez, Jessica (Zellers) Williams, and Drake Zellers; and his twelve grandchildren: Attley Huston, Micah Huston, Layden Zellers, Alexander Sanchez, Millie Huston, Alyssa Sanchez, Samantha Zellers, Wyatt Williams, Hannah Williams, Aria Sanchez, Logan Williams, and Rowan Zellers.
Michael will be remembered for his service to his country, his dedication to his work, and—most of all—his unwavering love and devotion to his family. His legacy lives on in the lives he shaped, the values he passed down, and the countless memories shared with those who loved him.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, February 4, 2026 at Olinger Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6601 S. Colorado Blvd, Centennial, CO 80121.
