In the early morning hours of Nov. 21, 2019 Randall “Randy” Earl Cross, Jr. died peacefully with his wife, Ana Torres Cross, by his side at Littleton Adventist hospital after his battle with cancer. Randy was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan to Verna Eileen Jorgensen and Randall Earl Cross, Sr. on Nov. 8, 1954 and had 3 younger brothers. Randy and Ana were married in California in January of 1981, and he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from Cal State University, Northridge in 1982. Randy and Ana then settled in Colorado where they raised a beautiful family and Randy worked in construction sales for the majority of his life.
Randy was a hard worker and caregiver. Spanning multiple generations starting with his younger brothers and ending with his youngest grandson, he never hesitated to offer his love, support, assistance and generosity. No problem was ever too large or too urgent—he would drop everything to come to the assistance of one of his many loved ones. Whether it was at a baseball game with friends or at home with his ever-expanding family, Randy had a smile on his face, a welcoming heart and maybe a Heineken in his hand. He was a devoted husband, a loving friend, giving father and grandfather, but most of all, he exemplified the virtues of love and forgiveness.
Despite many opportunities in life to sow hate and frustration, Randy never faltered in his pursuit to be a man of faith, love and charity. Even after death, we continue to learn how generous he was to family, friends, and co-workers. Above all we will remember him as the man who continued to give without asking for anything in return. For that, we will miss him but are forever grateful.
He is preceded in death by his father, Randall Cross, Sr. and his brother, Thomas Cross. He is survived by his mother, Verna; his two brothers Ted and Shawn; his wife, Ana and 4 children; his son Michael (Elizabeth) and their 3 children; his son Steven (Katie) and their 2 children; his son Andrew; his daughter Alex (Fiancée Andrew).
In lieu of gifts or flowers, we ask on behalf of Randy that donations be made to Judi’s House, a non profit organization which provides grief counseling support for grieving children and families.
