Thank you to everyone that were able to come out.

Staying up well past our bed times to watch old westerns with you when we were kids is one of my fondest memories. I’ll be thinking of you Grandpa

Gruff on the outside, a teddy bear on the inside.   He was always there for me. 
Waterskiing days- everyone on the lake would get up early to ski on smooth water. The water got very choppy.  I didn’t like skiing on that.  Just as he was sitting down to eat breakfast and the water was smooth again I would ask him to take me skiing and without fail he did.  
I don’t know how many times him and my brother Chris helped me move, every six months, no questions asked.
He gave me the 64’ Chevy Impala comfortable. At some point I tired of it and got a Beetle. He took the Impala and fixed it up real nice.  Done with the Beetle I asked for the Impala back.  Thank you Dad. 
Rest In Peace Dad and please don’t get kicked out of heaven.  

He was ornery and he was stubborn, but he was one of my favorite people. He told it like it was and you  never had to guess what he was thinking. I loved watching him and my grandma watch the Broncos together while I sat in the middle of the living room petting the lucky troll and grandma smacking the “dammit doll”. He was happiest at the lake on his boat while all us grandkids ran around and when we sat around the camp fire at night listening to uncle chuck tell us the tales of the great white elephant. As we grew up I learned that him and grandma party way harder than any of us and will get you kicked out of a casino in the blink of an eye. He had to inspect and give his approval on every new car anyone got and couldn’t get an oil change at the dealership without coming home with a new car. He taught me that expensive whiskey isn’t always the best and no one should be on your lawn unless they’re invited! He couldn’t shoot a gun and he had no interest in technology but he did everything his way and I will miss him every day.  Don’t worry grandpa I’ll make sure no one comes on the lawn and there’s always some cabin still whiskey inside the cupboard.  Give grandma hugs and twirl her around for me. Love, your favorite Grand daughter 

We  do not have the words to tell you how sorry we are for the loss of our beloved Bob.  We have nothing but the fondest memories of the love and the laughter within the entire Avis family.  We will always remember his wry wit and warmth.  H e is truly blessed to be loved so much ,by so many. And he is so proud of his family and loved all of you so much.I know your many wonderful memories will comfort you at this difficult time.

There are too many memories to list when it comes to my grandpa. His influence on me is forever continuing. He taught me how to drink coffee in the morning and that it was ok to drink it at night. He taught me how to pour a cocktail. He showed me what a good western was and how to tie a fishing knot.  He showed me how to get kicked out of a car show and the difference between an inboard boat motor and an outboard, what not to do in a Jeep and how to slide down stairs. He taught me so many things I still use today. I still tie my fishing knots the same way he showed me when I was a kid ( and I fish a lot). I still drink coffee in the mornings and sometimes at night, just because he did. I watch every western that comes on TV just to remember him. I’ve seen them all a thousand times. He was the first person I sent a picture to when I finally got a boat of my own and he told me, “that looks like a great boat grandson.” Every time I’m on the water I think of the day he let me steer the pontoon for the first time at the lake. He is with me always.  I will miss him dearly and never forget how he is a part of who I am.  I love you grandpa. Enjoy your new home in the stars with grandma. 

Dad did like cowboy shows and so did I. When I would call him or he called you could hear westerns  or combat shows in the background. We only watched these shows 1000 times. I would say watching this new cowboy show called the Good the Bad and the Ugly some guy named Clint Eastwood, have you seen it? He would say I will have to watch that one. John Wayne was is favorite. The old black and white were the best. I have all good memories of mom and dad. So here is a toast to them the Duke would use...Here’s to you here’s to me may we get to heaven a half hour before the devil knows we’re gone ... I love you miss you both Happy trails again!



So long old friend  it's been many years and counting.  We first met when we were fourteen years old as bagboy's at Millers Grocery store in Aurora.  I can still remember us hiding in the boxes in the back of the store for a  much deserved break , (we thought).   Seventy years later and still rehashing those old days and laughing .   I'll miss all the B.S. and the lunches and your  grumpy old face or the trying to look grumpy for everyone but we all knew  inside that tired old body was a sweet young loving man.  So long Bob, you will be missed.   I look forward to seeing you again but not too soon. Roland.     

To our dear friend!! We had so much fun playing golf. Who is going to tell me to “zip it”!! I will always remember to look for Bronco things for you. You will always be in our thoughts. 

Bob was always present for the family picnics and ready with a smile every time I saw him.  He was one face I always looked for at family gatherings because of that constant, Bob's smile and laughter will be missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family. 

Bob well we have so many. You were a hard man but a very good man who love's his family. You and Aunt Dorothy. Dave has so many great memories of growing up. All the Christmas times. So many great times up at the lake with his cousins and his grandma Lola and Grandpa Charlie. My heart is with your children and grandchildren and great grandchildren. And of course Connie. Thank you for always treating me with respect kindness and love. You rip with your mom and dad and Dorothy and all the people who have gone before you. We all love you. P.s. if you are dancing the night away in Heaven and you come across my mom and pop. Give them our love and Grandpa and grandma. Love you. See you again one day. Have the boat ready and the fishing polls. 

Uncle Bob has always been one of my favorite uncle's. He had a sense of humor that was sometimes taken harsh, but if you knew him you understood. When he believed you were doing the right things with your life he would offer support and back you to the fullest. He always wanted the best for his family and loved ones. I love him and will miss him very much.

There are so many memories... When I was younger I used to sleep outside,up at the lake.  A couple of times when he was the last one at the campfire, he woke me up and took me to breakfast at the truck stop.  It was kinda cool.

My favorite memories of my dad is that my mom and him loved to dance, he loved music. Growing up  when it was time to come in he would whistle for us, if we weren't within whistling distance we were in big trouble. One time, he played devil on the door step (ring door bell and run) we rang the doorbell and went and hid but not dad, he ran all the way home while the people stood outside and watched him. I love you and miss you. I feel you and mom all around me. I hope you are dancing in the sky. You definitely did it your way.
