It is with heavy hearts that the family of Sharon Kay Caldwell announce her peaceful passing on March 11, 2024 at the age of 84. Sharon was proceeded in death by Larry Caldwell, her husband of 62 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her children: Ryan Caldwell (wife, Janet Caldwell) and Reid Caldwell (wife, Kelly Caldwell); grandchildren: Brooke Taylor (husband, Samuel Taylor) and Bradley Caldwell, and great-grandchildren Aria, Weston, Nolan, and Rowan Taylor; and sister, Corine Jones (husband, Tim Prindle).
Sharon was born and raised in Iowa by John and Lena Belle Jones. Sharon became a Christian at a young age and graduated from Ames High School in 1957. After high school, Sharon began working for the phone company as a switchboard operator. Sharon married her high school sweetheart, Larry Caldwell in May of 1959. In 1964, Sharon put in for a transfer with the phone company and she and Larry moved to Denver, Colorado. Sharon continued to work for the phone company until her retirement in 2004. Spending time with family and friends, crocheting blankets and scarves, and singing in the choir were all things that Sharon enjoyed in her free time. Sharon spent her retirement years traveling, going to high school basketball games with Larry, bowling with friends, and attending her favorite Bible study.
