January 6th, 1971 - March 6th, 2022
Sirena died on March 6th 2022. She lived her life with adventure, love and drama.
She always had to be doing something, at the drop of a hat she was in her car and on to her
next big adventure, be it visiting family in California, driving to the mountains for a weekend
getaway or just driving her loyal clients with Uber/Lyft around the Denver area.
Sirena loved meeting new people and getting to know them, even if it was for just the hour
they were in her car or the 20min it took to get them to the airport, she enjoyed hearing others
life stories and cracking inappropriate jokes with them while making new friends at every turn.
Sirena was born in Redondo Beach, CA and was adopted by Henrietta Acosta and Alfred
Acosta Sr. (deceased) and grew up with them and her siblings; Yolanda, Alfred Jr., and Tudy
(deceased) in Downey, CA.
She later married Daniel Trujillo and had three daughters; Amanda, Cheyenne and Krystal. She
lived in many places and states, but her favorite that she called home was a town called Castle
Rock in beautiful Colorado. She loved the small town feel, it often reminded her of her favorite
show Gilmore Girls, she loved that her daughters were able to grow up in a safe environment
while easily making friends (a trait they inherited from her).
She was brave in her endeavors and was never one to back down from a situation, like when
her eldest ended up in the hospital multiple times due to illnesses. Though it’s a mothers job to
be there always for her children, Sirena always went above and beyond to be an amazing stay-at-
home mom and provide the support her children needed in their daily lives.
She always wanted to make sure her daughters were prepared for whatever life had in store
should something happen to her. She was efficient in helping them learn independence, how to
cook and clean and even make a budget. She taught them how to read a map, how to drive,
how to effectively problem solve and how to plan for unexpected circumstances… such as
pregnancy, loss of a job or death of a family member or a friend.
Sirena wasn’t just a mom to her 3 girls, she was a mom to their friends and their friends friends,
she was mom to some of her closest friends. Sirena was someone who was easy to talk to and
understand, someone who had nothing but love to give be it a hug, a meal, a conversation or
just her being present. She always made sure that her family was taken care of and was proof
that family isn’t always blood related, but who you choose to love and accept.
Sirena will be greatly missed by all, she had a way to light up any room she walked into and
bring a smile to everyone’s face. Though the world is dimmer without her in it, she is
succeeded by Daniel and her 3 daughters to keep her memory alive.
The family will be hosting a private memorial service at Olinger Chapel in Colorado, invitation
only, on April 23rd @ 1pm MST and will be streaming the event via One Room for those who
can’t be physically present.
If you would like the information for the stream or to attend in person, please contact Daniel
and Amanda for information.
In lieu of flowers, the family politely requests donations to the GoFundMe they have created to
help cover expenses in relation to Sirena during this time. If you would like to donate another
way, please contact Daniel or Amanda for more information.
