

He attended Colorado State University and then the University of Colorado Denver receiving a BS in Marketing. In 1971 Steven was drafted into the United States Navy where he served before returning to complete his education. We went on to work in sales and then made a career as a Senior Mortgage Loan Officer.
Steven met his wife Penny Buchanan at the University of Colorado business college where they bonded over watching Star Trek at The Prairie Schooner Bar and having lively debates about life and beliefs. They married in 1984 and shared over three decades of marriage together until her passing in 2016.
He is survived by his daughter, Nicole and her husband Kenton; and his three granddaughters Kaylie, Maya and Allie who fondly called him “Papa”.
Steven was known for his outgoing personality and competitive spirit, making friends easily wherever he went. He was a lifelong baseball fan not only watching the game, playing Strat-O-Matic Fantasy Baseball game but also trying out for the Colorado Triple- A Denver Bears. His passion beyond baseball was playing tennis, he dreamed of one day living by the beach and playing tennis every day. In early marriage, Steven and Penny were both part of the LifeSpring organization and they both were involved in DPD charity bingo. In his later years Steven was involved in organizing and calling bingo at his different places of residence.
He will be missed and remembered for his lasting impact on his friends and family.
