I am so sorry for your loss

The first time I met Tom was in Minneapolis for an interview this was about 1992. I was engineering out of St Paul we had a very good meeting. I had a number of interviews for a variety of jobs this position was on the engineering staff. Tom did hire me to establish a quality engineering plan for outside plant for the 14 states that was US West.  Tom also hired an outside plant planner.It turned out that both of us enjoyed dressing up as clowns. When George asked Tom if he hired anybody he told him just a couple of clowns.This started a very great friendship. I was still located in Minneapolis.  Within the next year US West was building a Cable Company in Omaha and George was the Director and he brought Tom on and Tom brought me on to the project it was the that I moved to Denver in 1994. One day Tom asked if I hunted Pheasants I said yes and he said we should go to Kansas and I said let’s go to South Dakota. We did and for about ten years that is where we hunted.  We continued to hunt pheasants out at the Bluffs at Byers.  Tom, Sam, Marilee and I enjoyed many evenings out. We will miss Tom.     Don and Marilee Sichterman

Tom had a signature voice and laugh that I’ll never forget.  He always talked about his family and lit up everytime.  I am blessed and thankful for having the opportunity to have such a great mentor and friend.  He was truly genuine, sincere and one of the great ones.  May he live forever in our hearts, thoughts, prayers and memories.  “Oh and don’t let the bad guys get ya”

A couple of childhood memories from when our Riverside gang would gather for a game of football on Tom's parents front lawn. One of Tom's favorite plays was to make a flying catch in the "end zone" and then crash backwards into his mom's manicured hedge. It's still a puzzlement as to how Marguerite garnered so many yard of the month awards from her garden club with the grid iron wandering around and through her flowerbeds. That she was a very patient lady was evidenced by her hosting our Cub Scout pack meetings in her basement.

Prayers and condolences to Tom's wife, Janet, and to all his children, and grandchildren, may you all be granted Providential comfort during this difficult time.  I know how much he cherished you all, as you all were frequent topics of our many conversations.  Tom was a great man, a great man of service.   I first met Tom at 360networks in 2000, and that was the start of an enduring friendship and business relationship that lasted over a quarter of a century right up until he was called up to duty in Heaven.  I considered Tom a mentor, having worked for him on countless telecom network projects and learning more and more from him as the years passed.  He always took time to teach and explain, to share his years if accumulated wisdom.  I will forever relish our many, many conversations on one of our favorite topics, politics, where we shared identical perspectives, and I always loved hearing his stories on his most recent trip;  Grand Junction, the Springs, Alaska, Hawaii, even Kansas, whereever it may have been it was always interesting.  Seeing Tom's caller id always brightened my day.   Tom, thank you for everything,  I appreciated you more than I could have ever articulated.

Gina, I meet your Dad a few times at the salon over the years.  The last time I told him that he and your Mom did a pretty good job raising you.  He looked at me with a sparkle in his eyes and said, “she is a good kid!”  

Know that we are always here for you.  Love you My Gin!

It has been many years since I visited the Dillion household as a little girl, but I remember feeling welcomed we and included.  Tom, you're smile, stories, and since of adventure will be missed.

My heart goes our to your family as they adjust to their new lives.

I had the pleasure of knowing Tom through my friendship with JD and Beau . Tom was a familiar face at all of our baseball games and was always a positive influence through the years.

Anyone who is a parent will understand that there kids typically refuse to listen to their parents when it comes to sport's.  I am sure that tom and my dad came to an agreement at some point that they would talk to each other’s boys during baseball games to give coaching tips.  As I would walk back to the dugout after a long inning  I would see Tom standing behind the chain link fence motioning his finger at me to come have a teaching moment. I’ll always remember Tom’s smirk under his push broom mustache. Most of the time I was the “middle man”to tell JD or Beau what they needed to do at their next at bat or on the mound. I would always let them know what their dad said knowing full well that they just got an ear full from my dad about what I needed to do. 

I always appreciated Tom’s advice. He was a competitor who loved sports and was always around to support his boys and the team. I will miss those chain link chats but will always remember what a great person he was.
