Vyrna Lou Young passed away February 7, 2014 in Denver, Colorado at the age of 79. She married Mahlon E. Young on December 31, 1950 who preceeded her May 15, 1980. Vyrna is survived by 3 siblings, George, Vivian (Patty) and Richard (Dicky), along with 5 children, Christina, Parker (Buck), Everett, Leon and Jeri. 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Born on October 4, 1934 and raised in Denver. Except for a 4 year stint in California between 1958 & 1962, she spent her life within a 20 mile radius of her childhood home on South Jason Street.
Vyrna attended West High School, but did not graduate. Her vocation was mother and wife, working outside the home only after her youngest began school. She was mom to everyone, from her own siblings to every child who befriended her children and grandchildren.
Afflicted with vascular dementia, she spent the last 4 and a half years under the splendid care of knowledgeable professionals at Bear Creek Care and Rehabilitation Center.
Vyrna was a fiery red head with pale blue eyes. She always said she was too ornery to die. She passed quietly in her bed, suffering no pain
