

He was born in Satanta, Kansas, July 23rd, 1943, to Gerald Lester and Mary (Sage) Riggs. In his younger childhood years, he lived in several small Kansas towns, but in his later school years lived in Pueblo, Colorado. Wayne graduated from Centennial High School, in Pueblo, Colorado 1961. After graduation he enlisted into the Unites Sates Navy and received his Electrician Training and later became a Licensed Electrician. After the Navy, he attended Colorado Institute of Technology in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Throughout his career he was an Electrician at Gates Rubber Company, also worked at IBM, was a Maintenance Technician for injection molding, and did computer programming on robots, etc.
Wayne married the love of his life, Sharon (Moore) on July 14, 1973. They lovingly spent almost 53 years together, sharing many enjoyable times snow skiing in the winter and water skiing in the summer, hiking, camping, off-roading, traveling, white water rafting, Bluegrass Festivals and annual visits to Rocky Mountain National Park and Estes Park with the family. After children were raised, and after retirement, Wayne and Sharon did extensive traveling enjoying each other and experiencing new adventures.
Wayne was preceded in death by: Parents Mary (Sage) Riggs, Gerald Riggs, Brothers: Leroy Riggs, Donald Riggs. Wayne missed them terribly, especially after Leroy and Don passed away, leaving him to be the last one of their family.
A loving husband to Sharon, Wayne was a pillar of strength and a provider for his family. Together they raised 3 children: Daughter: Stephanie, grandsons Brandon, Nicholas and Seth, Son: Timothy, Daughter-in-law Ivy, grandsons Tristan and Tanner, Daughter: Tina with husband Jeff, granddaughters: Cassidy and Grace.
In addition to his wife, children and grandchildren, Wayne is survived by 4 Great-Grandchildren, many other family members, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss him dearly.
His final resting place will be at Olinger Mount Lindo Cemetery, in Morrison, Colorado. Due to the uncertainty of weather conditions, the service and burial will be in spring or summer.
While we are deeply saddened by our loss and grieving this profound absence, we choose to honor the wonderful memories Wayne has left us. His spirit will forever live on in our hearts, reminding us of the joy and love he brought into our lives.
