

She had two brothers, older Alceo and younger Valentino. They lived modestly. The community was mostly farming and fishing. Her youth saw the times of Mussolini's fascist regime, WWII and German occupation.
She met and married Silvio Lucarelli of Fano, a fisherman of the nearby Adriatic sea. Soon they had a son Lamberto in 1953, then Augusto in 1959.
With the dream of living in America Silvio departed in '59 to pave the way. He settled in Old Saybrook, Connecticut with work as a fisherman and a rented house on Ferry Road.
The next year, 1960, Liliana left her homeland alone, to board the ocean liner, "Cristofero Columbo", with only her sons, now 7 years and 1 year old in tow.
For a few years they lived at Ferry Road. but in 1964 they bought their own property, also in Old Saybrook.
Later on, in the 1970's to the 1990's, Liliana worked as a seamstress at, "Sage Allen", in Old Saybrook performing alterations and tailoring for customers. Many became acquaintances and regularly would come to the home to be fitted.
Throughout the time living, (in America), visits back to Italy were always anticipated by the whole family. Liliana loved visiting her family. She and Silvio traveled there more and more often as they grew older.
In 2008 her husband Silvio passed away. Liliana had lovingly and patiently cared for him for years as Alzheimer's Disease advanced. 2015 saw the untimely passing of Lamberto, her first son. She was also predeceased by both brothers, Alceo and Valentino.
She is survived by her son, Augusto, his wife Maria and her grandchildren Alyssa, Briana, April, Joseph and Benjamin.
Liliana was always kind and loving. Her life was fulfilled with impeccable courage, strength and devotion to her family and loved ones. She is and forever will be cherished. Memories of her live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
