Maria Wilhelm passed away at her home in Westbrook on January 30, 2026. She was born on February 13, 1941 to Emil Kurth and Elisa Egger in Switzerland. She leaves her sons, Remo, spouse Cheryl, Marcus and Grandchildren Riley and Broden. She also leaves behind eight brothers and sisters and their families in Switzerland. Maria moved to the United States with her husband and son, Remo in 1967. They made Westbrook their home and had her second son Marcus. As a homemaker she used her skills to become a very talented cook, baker and seamstress. Her house was not complete without a cat for her to spoil. She loved nature and all that it offered, she enjoyed feeding and watching the birds and tending to her gardens, growing beautiful flowers and many varieties of vegetables. She really shined for her Grandchildren, Riley and Broden, cherishing time with them and sharing family fondue traditions during the holidays. A Memorial Service will be held on May 9th from 11 am - 1 pm at RWW with lunch to follow at Remo’s home in Westbrook. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Forgotten Felines in her name.
