

She was born in Hartford, CT on July 19, 1930. Phyllis was an accomplished and talented seamstress, quilter and later in life, watercolor artist. Known by most as Nana, she was always an active member of her local church beginning at St Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church in Chester where she was a member of the choir and St Ann’s Guild. In her later days she attended St Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church in New London where she was a devoted daily Mass attendee. She touched many lives throughout her life.
Phyllis was predeceased by her parents, Samuel Hewitt and Ivy Whaples, husbands Sisto Radicchi and Ernest Chase, brother Jim (Martha) Gesick of South Dakota and brother-in-laws James Skeffington and Paul Evans. She is survived by her children: Diane (William) Dyckman of Windham, Paul (Dawn) Radicchi Selectmen of Chester and Tom Radicchi of Reeds Spring, MO., along with 6 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, sister Beverly Skeffington of East Lyme, sister Shirley Evans of Waterford, brother Ray (Ellie) Gesick of Virginia Beach, VA. Not to mention, countless friends, nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the compassionate staff at Bride Brook Rehabilitation & Nursing Home for their affectionate care during her stay.
A public visitation will be held Wednesday May 29th from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Robinson, Wright & Weymer Funeral Home in Centerbrook. There will be a funeral mass and burial at St Joseph’s RC Church (48 Middlesex Turnpike, Chester, CT 06412) at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 30, 2024.
