Marie Kerwick

Marie Kerwick, age 95, of Centereach, New York passed away on Monday, August 12, 2024. Born in Queens, in 1928 to Walter and Helen Smith. Adored wife of Edward Kerwick, together they proudly raised a loving family of seven children, fifteen grandchildren, and eighteen great grandchildren! Beloved mother of Thomas (Audrey), Eileen (Paul) Elliott, William (Maryanne), Kathleen (Wayne) Eaton, Maureen (Neil) Luberda, Mary (Sam) Power, and Edward (Dawn).

Following graduation from Bishop McDonnell High School in Brooklyn, Marie met her husband at an office Christmas Party and married in 1951 before settling down in Centereach. After raising her family, Marie began her twenty-five year tenure as a hospital administrator, working at Smithtown General, and was also very involved with the Rosary Society at the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church. Her loved ones describe Marie as "a Saint", her loving, caring, selfless behavior emulating that of her faith. She was a great listener, and her sense of humor was like no other. Family was the end all, be all for Marie and her care-taking attitude was cherished by her grand and great grandchildren. Her family will remember her for her dedication, faith, and motherly warmth. Marie now joins her beloved husband in peace for eternity.

A visitation for Marie will be held Sunday, August 18, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at O. B. Davis Funeral Homes, 2326 Middle Country Road, Centereach, NY 11720. A funeral mass will occur Monday, August 19, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Assumption of The Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church, 33 Crown Acres Rd, Centereach, NY 11720. A committal service will occur Monday, August 19, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Calverton National Cemetery, Wading River, NY 11792. In lieu of flowers, the family would greatly appreciate donations to Treasure Coast Hospice in Stuart, Florida.
