Born on July 27, 1945, in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania, to Ernest and Mary Kleber, Margie grew up in a close-knit family before making her home in Louisiana. A dedicated professional, she enjoyed a rewarding career of more than 30 years at Exxon, retiring in 2010. After courageously surviving cancer in the early 2000s, Margie embraced life with renewed vigor and an infectious zest for adventure. She was renowned for her kind and generous heart, her unwavering patriotism, and her faith in the Lord. Margie welcomed everyone she met as a friend—she truly never knew a stranger.
An avid scuba diver, Margie planned multiple dive trips each year, creating lasting memories with her cherished group of scuba buddies. A lifelong die-hard fan of America’s Team, the Pittsburgh Steelers, she also found joy in simpler pleasures: spoiling her beloved Yorkie, Max; knitting beautiful creations; binge-watching crime dramas; and captivating listeners with vivid tales of her many adventures.
Margie was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Mary Kleber; and her brothers, Ernest and Gerald Kleber. She is survived by her son, David Nahas (Stacy); daughter, Anesa Nahas; grandchildren, Jenna and Ethan Sturgeon, and Seth Brumfield; and great-grandson, Nolan Brumfield.
Though taken from us too soon, Margie's vibrant spirit, warmth, and love will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know her. She will be profoundly missed.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Central Funeral Home, 9995 Hooper Road, Central, LA 70818.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Divers Alert Network (DAN) in Margie's memory at https://apps.dan.org/donations.
