Sidney "Johnny" Eiland, age 68, of Selma, Alabama passed away on Monday, March 4, 2024. Known as Bubba to his family, he was born in Moline, Illinois to Lola Mae and Sidney Dee Eiland. He was a painter by trade. In his free time, he enjoyed playing the guitar, fishing, camping and most of all, spending time with family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Lorie Deerman; nephew, Alan Duncan; niece, Alanna Eiland; and great-niece, Alissa Kay Simmons. He is survived by his sisters, Marsha Hubbard (Alan) and Lisa Simmons (Tommy); brothers, Dannie Joe Eiland (Misty) and Eddie Dwayne Eiland; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins; and special friend, Elizabeth Eiland.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 8, 2024, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Rockco Funeral Home, 805 Birmingham Road, Centreville, AL 35042 and a graveside service will follow at 11:30 AM at Pineland Cemetery in Centreville, Alabama. Roger Thomas will officiate. To celebrate Johnny as the simple man he was, his family requests guests dress comfortably.
In lieu of flowers, donations toward final expenses are greatly appreciated.
Serving as pallbearers are John Simmons, Eric Simmons, Robert Duncan, Andrew Duncan, Danny Duncan, and William Boone. Family and friends will serve as honorary pallbearers.
