Alton John Simpson Jr.

Alton John Simpson Jr. passed away on Friday, October 5, 2018 at the age of 67. Beloved husband of Brenda Horn Simpson for 46 years. Loving father of Debra Hymel (Jerome), Steven Simpson (Kelly) and Scott Simpson (Jeanne). Son of the late Alton Simpson Sr. and Beverly Albarez Johnson. Brother of Brenda Breakfield (John), Beverly Breakfield (Paul) and the late Barbara Simspon and Deborah Simpson. Proud grandfather of Chase, Madison, Gracelyn and the late Remy Simpson. Also survived and fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and friends.

Alton was born on August 11, 1951 in New Orleans, LA and was a longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish. He retired from the Orleans Parish School Board after 32 years of dedicated service. For the past 10 years he has worked at Lynn Oaks Elementary School where he was greatly loved by the students and staff. In addition to being an avid New Orleans Saints Fan, he also had a passion for hunting and fishing. He will be forever remembered and deeply missed by his family, friends and the all of those whose lives he has touched.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM. A funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM. He will be laid to rest in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
