

Alvin Roland Beaubouef, Sr. passed away gracefully at the age of 77, on January 2, 2023, at his home. Al was born on September 6, 1945, in New Orleans, and he spent most of his life in Meraux raising his family with his beloved wife of 57 years, Carol Ann Battaglia.
Al loved an adventure. He raised his children to hunt, fish, and travel. Over the years, he was a man of many professions including owning a service station, flying a cargo plane, welding, owning a container repair yard, owning a hunting lodge in Alabama, and owning a freight brokerage company. Al was a beloved husband, father, and pawpaw. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents Herman Alzie and Evelyn Wroten Beaubouef and his siblings Gloria Gonzales, Herman "Bubby" Beaubouef, and Ronald Beaubouef. In addition to his wife, Al is survived by his three children Alvin Roland Beaubouef, Jr. (Shelley), Anthony "Tony" Beaubouef (Sandy), and Theresa Beaubouef Purcell (Kevin). He had numerous grandchildren and step-grandchildren. Alvin's children/step-children are the following: Jacqueline Beaubouef, Courtney (Jacob) with their children Gavin and Mia, and their granddaughter Bella. Tony's children are the following: Chelsea, Ashley, and Alex Beaubouef. Theresa's children/step-children are the following: Zachary Sparcella, Dominick Sparcella, Angie Purcell Burt with her children Laurelli and James, and Matthew Purcell with his daughter Madison.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to all who prayed for and offered Al care and compassion during this difficult time.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Friday, January 6th from 9:00AM – 11:00AM, followed by a celebration of Al’s life beginning at 11:00AM. He will be laid to eternal rest in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
