Barbara Jean Collins passed away on Monday, March 8, 2021. She was 89 years old. She was the loving mother of Bryan Collins and Judy Rosa (Keith); devoted grandmother of Bryan Collins, Jr. (Paige), Charles Collins (Sarah), Jessica Moore (Patrick), Michel Rosa, and Courtney Wylesky (Kyle); great-grandmother of Sophie Collins, Emma Collins, Nora Jean Moore, Jordan Wylesky, Gentry Wylesky, and Jamison Wylesky who will enter this world in April, 2021. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, the late Russel Collins; by her mother, the late M. Bernard Guthrie; by her father, the late W. C. Guthrie; and by 11 siblings.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Monday, March 15, 2021, at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. VIRTUE STREET, in Chalmette, from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM. A funeral mass will be held in her memory at 11:00 AM. She will be laid to rest in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the American Cancer Society or Alzheimer's and Dementia research. Please be mindful that facial coverings are required at all times while inside the funeral home.
