Bette Norton Palmeri

Bette is survived by her children: Mark Palmeri (Margie), and Bruce Palmeri (Heidi). Grandchildren: Katie Jones (Collin), Andrew Palmeri (Jessica), Matthew Palmeri (Niki), Amy James (Steven), Thomas Palmeri (Courtney), James Palmeri (Meagan). Great-grandchildren: Gianni, Nathan, Parker, Paisley, Jacob, Owen, Averi, and Corra. Sister: Marie Norton Talamo.

Bette is preceded in death by the late Joseph Palmeri (First marriage), Robin Palmeri (Daughter), Shirley Perret (Sister), Achille Fink Sr. (Second Marriage).

Bette is survived by her Step-children: Achille Fink Jr. (Mary), Bartholomew Fink, Michael Fink, and Troy Fink (Laura).

Bette was born in New Orleans, LA to Emile Norton and Marie Thomas Norton on August 24, 1942. She graduated from Annunciation High School in New Orleans, LA in 1960. She married Joseph Palmeri on April 15, 1961, in New Orleans, LA. Bette was a homemaker raising her 3 children along with her husband Joseph. She cared for her daughter with Rhett’s syndrome until Robin’s death in 1999. She was a member of the Legion of Mary at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Church serving as Vice President for many years. She was a Eucharistic Minister and visited the sick and homebound. She was also a member of the Association of the Miraculous Medal. Bette was dedicated to serving her church and was noted for her strong Catholic faith.

In Lieu of flowers the family would like donations made to the Team Gleason Foundation. The mission of Team Gleason Foundation is to improve life for people living with ALS by delivering innovative technology and equipment, as well as providing and empowering an improved life experience. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Friday, July 8, 2022, at OUR LADY OF PROMPT SUCCOR CHURCH, 2320 PARIS ROAD, in Chalmette, from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM. A funeral mass will be held in her memory at 12:00 PM. She will be laid to rest in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
