Charlene T. Collins entered into eternal rest on Saturday, February 18, 2023, at the age of 78. She was born in New Orleans, LA on March 9, 1944, and was a resident of Covington, LA. Loving wife to the late Douglas F. Collins. Charlene was the caring mother to Douglas A. Collins (Debbie), Cherie Collins Gumpert (Kenneth), and the late Michael S. Collins; grandmother to Amber, Michael, Daniel, Brandon, Lindsey, Corey, Jude, Mia and Ethan; great grandmother to Jase, Colton, Makayla, Isla and Adam; aunt to many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles A. Tracy and Marion W. Tracy; sister, Caroline T. Iacono.
Charlene loved her family and her friends. She was a registered nurse for many years. Her greatest joy was volunteering at the animal shelter. She was an animal lover by heart. She will be deeply missed by us all, but her memory will live forever in our hearts.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial gathering to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Friday, March 31, 2023, from 11:00 AM- 1:00 PM. A memorial funeral will begin at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
