Charles Allen “C.A.” Sanchez Jr. passed away among family and friends on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 26, 2015, at the age of 81. Loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, U.S. Marine and Friend, he is the son of the late Charles Allen Sanchez Sr. and Hilda Delery Sanchez. C.A. is survived by his beloved wife Patricia Lopez Sanchez, his cherished daughter Cynthia Sanchez Williams and son-in-law Alexander Harmon Williams, his grandchildren Alexander Reid Williams and Jordan Charles Williams, his sister Louise Ellen McDonald (the late James T.), his brother-in-law Steven J. Lopez Jr. (Patricia), his niece Pam M. Kleinpeter (Kurt) and his nephews Scott J. McDonald (Collette), Ryan A. McDonald (Virginia), Sean D. McDonald (Christian) and David J. Lopez (Melissa). In the model of St. Joseph, C.A. was a gentle man of faith, a family man and a woodworker who lived a simple but profound life. He lived by example, proving that the extraordinary was to be found and lived in the ordinary of everyday. Loving, accepting, practical and wise, C.A. enriched the lives of everyone he met and will be carried in the hearts of his family and friends. As a longtime resident of Chalmette and a 10-year resident of Husser, LA, he was a neighbor in the truest sense, opening his home and his heart in fellowship to anyone who came to visit. Relatives, friends of the family, former colleagues, schoolmates and USL brothers of Phi Kappa Theta are invited to celebrate C.A.’s life and attend funeral services and his interment at St. Bernard Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you make a donation to the CurePSP, 30 E. Padonia Rd, Suite 201 Timonium, Maryland, 21093, www.curepsp.org. The family would like to express our gratitude and heart-felt thank you to the care given to C.A. from St Tammy Parish Hospital, the good people of Hospice Compassus, the gallant Husser Volunteer Fire Department, and also to St. Helena Catholic Church, community and pastor, Fr. Mark Beard. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Monday, November 30, 2015, from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm. A Funeral Mass will begin at 1:00 pm in the Chapel. Mr. Sanchez will be laid to rest in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
