Chris Michael Mayer

It is with deep love and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Christy (Chris) Michael Mayer, a cherished husband, devoted father, and proud grandfather, who left this world at the age of 76. He lived a simple life by choice—one grounded in gratitude, humility, and a quiet strength that touched everyone who knew him. For 53 beautiful years, he shared his life with his beloved wife. Together they built a partnership defined by loyalty, laughter, and the kind of everyday companionship that becomes life’s greatest treasure. Their marriage was a testament to unwavering commitment and the power of growing through the seasons of life, hand in hand. As a father, he offered steady guidance, patience, and unconditional love. His children learned from his example—how to work hard, be kind, and appreciate the small joys that make a life whole. As a grandfather, he found renewed joy, offering gentle wisdom, warm embraces, and endless pride in watching the next generation flourish.

Chris loved being in the woods running his beloved beagle dogs. He will be remembered for his quiet generosity, his sense of humor, and the peace he found in life’s simplest moments. Though he never sought recognition, his legacy lives on in the family he adored and the values he instilled.

He leaves behind a family who loved him deeply and will carry his memory forward with gratitude: his devoted wife, Linda Ruiz Mayer of 53 years; his children, Lisa Mayer (Phillip) and Leslie St. Pe (Chad); his 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; his brother, Benny Mayer (Katherine); his many nieces and nephews and all those fortunate enough to have shared in his life. Chris is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Benedict & Noelie Hogan Mayer; his sister Noelie Macheca (the late John).

Though he is no longer with us, the love he gave and the life he lived remain a lasting gift. May he rest in gentle peace. A gathering will be held at Rocky & Carlos, 618 W. St. Bernard Hwy, Chalmette, LA 70043 on Saturday, December 13, 2025, from 12:00 PM -2:00 PM.
