It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of Devin Michael Murray, who gained his wings on Friday, May 30th, 2025, at the tender age of 38. Born on April 28th, 1987, Devin was a beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, and cousin whose vibrant spirit touched countless lives. Devin was the cherished son of Tammy Lovell and Kevin Murray (Susan). He was a devoted nephew to the late Julie Murray, brother to Kelly Ray Isbell, Jr. and Tiffany Marie Treadaway, nephew Chandler Mackles and niece Emma Isbell, and a loving grandson to Barbara Murray and the late Micky Murray, the late Albert Lovell, Sr and the late Florence Lafuentes Lovell.
A proud resident of Saint Bernard Parish, Devin graduated from Andrew Jackson High School in Chalmette, Louisiana. His life was a testament to his incredible strength, unwavering work ethic, and profound dedication to his community. As a respected field engineer for Boh Bros. Construction Co., L.L.C., Devin built a professional legacy of integrity and excellence, values he upheld in every project and achievement. Devin was deeply loved by his aunts and uncles: Mary, Norma, Timmy, BJ Lovell, Kathy Parta (Rob), John Bailey, and Christina Lovell; Debbie Ruiz (Cecil Sr.); and Susie Casanova (Kirk). He was a treasured cousin to Chad Noland, Joshua Lovell, Brandon Parta, Amy Perez, Blake, Cecil Jr., and Britney Ruiz. His nephews and nieces—Tara, Harper, Leah, Lexie, Layla, LeAnna, Lincon, Sky, Jonah, Jordan, Jayce, Annabella and Ace—will forever miss their fun-loving uncle, who was always there for them.
Devin was a truly good-hearted young man who loved with every fiber of his being. He had an infectious smile and a happiness about him that brightened every room he entered, and everyone around him felt the warmth of his beautiful spirit. Devin also possessed a powerful, unwavering belief in the power of possibility. Years ago, on March 1, 2012, he wrote a Facebook post that truly encapsulated his outlook: "Never stop believing in the possible, for it’s that faith that makes the impossible possible. Get right or die trying." These aren't just words; they are a testament to his indomitable spirit, his determination, and his refusal to back down from any challenge. This was Devin—a young man who genuinely embodied the idea of giving his all, every single day. A decade later, on February 24, 2022, Devin penned another profound post: "I thought we only have one life to live. If that's true I'm going to make this one shot at life the very best, I can. I'll be damned if there is not a soul on this earth to tell me I cannot be and have the best life possible." He deeply understood the preciousness of life and was resolved to make every moment count. He declared, "If I work hard to accomplish my hopes, dreams and goals that anything is possible. I promise I will do whatever it takes to make this one shot of this thing called life the very best I can. That I promise." Though Devin's earthly journey has ended, the light of his beautiful soul will continue to shine, a beacon of love and joy guiding us until we meet again. Devin's favorite color was true blue, so in remembrance of him, we ask that you wear his favorite colors to celebrate the joy he brought into our lives.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Friday, June 13th from 11:00AM – 1:00PM, followed by a funeral service in Devin’s memory beginning at 1:00PM. He will be laid to eternal rest in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
