It is with deep love and gratitude for a life well lived that we announce the passing of Dolores B. Mills, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who peacefully departed at the age of 93. Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, she spent most of her life in St. Bernard Parish, where she built a home filled with warmth, resilience, and devotion to family. Following Hurricane Katrina, she relocated to Madisonville, Louisiana, where she continued to share her strength and love with those around her.
She was a proud graduate of Nicholls High School and carried the values of hard work, kindness, and perseverance throughout her life. Widowed since 2017, she remained a pillar of strength and grace for her family. Her greatest accomplishment and deepest joy was her family. She found immense happiness in the lives of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, cherishing every moment spent together and creating lasting memories that will be treasured forever. She also had a lively spirit and a love for life’s simple pleasures, including her cherished trips to the casino, where she enjoyed excitement, laughter, and time well spent.
Dolores is survived by her children, Janis Mills Lamanette (the late Ronald J. Lamanette) and James Casper Mills III, M.D. (Kim M. Mills); her grandchildren, Melissa Lamanette Boos, James Casper Mills IV and Christopher Jude Mills; her great grandchildren, Mason James Boos and Madison Aline Boos; and other relatives and friends.
