Edward Henry “Red” Fleetwood, age 78, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 19, 2015, surrounded by his loving family. Our Beloved Red was born October 8, 1936 and was a lifelong resident of St. Bernard Parish.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Fleetwood, Jr., his mother, Emelda Schaffery Fleetwood, and his brother, William Fleetwood III.
A devoted and loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and great-grandfather, Red leaves behind his wife of 58 years, Joan Grisaffi Fleetwood; children Edward (and April) Fleetwood Jr., Dionne (and Matt) Immel, and Bryan (and Cheryl) Fleetwood, Sr.; grandchildren Lauren (and Michael) Cullen, Bryan (and Mandy) Fleetwood Jr., Jonathan (and MacGregor) Immel, Corey Fleetwood, Brittney (and Corey) Chilton, and Rhett Fleetwood; great-grandchildren Shae and Tripp Cullen, Talan Chilton, and Baby Emerson; brothers James and Clarence Fleetwood, and sisters Ann Hennitzy and Marie Gilligan.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church, 2320 Paris Road, Chalmette, La 70043, on Saturday, July 25, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Inurnment will be private.
