Edwin “Hale” Gonzales, age 76, passed away on Monday, February 15, 2016. He was born in New Orleans and was a long-time resident of St. Bernard Parish. Mr. Gonzales was the husband of Brenda LaCour Gonzales for 56 years; son of Oscar and Jennie Gonzales; father of Kevin D. Gonzales, Edwin Hale Gonzales, Jr. (Libby Guedry Gonzales), and the late Wilfred “Will” Hale Gonzales; grandfather of Kolby Gonzales Hodge (Paul), Mason D. Gonzales, Grant Hale Gonzales and Morgan Elizabeth Gonzales; great-grandfather of Emmie Rose Hodge and Porter Daniel Hodge; brother of Estelle Nicosia, Oscar Gonzales, Rodney Gonzales and the late Anne Elliot. He is also survived by numerous other family and friends. Mr. Gonzales proudly served our country in the United States Navy. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm. A Funeral Mass will begin at 1:00 pm in the Chapel. Mr. Gonzales will be laid to rest in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
