Elois Kathmann Toepfer passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at the age of 88. Her final days were spent surrounded by family, friends and caregivers that she had touched in some way throughout her life. She was the cherished wife of 53 years to the late Albert Bernard Toepfer. Loving mother of Kathy McDowell (Denny), Jan Juneau (Don), Dan Toepfer (Janice), Glenn Toepfer (Marie) and Greg Toepfer (Brenda). Daughter of the late Milford Kathmann and Albertha Mattern Kathmann. Sister of the late Mil Kathmann (Ruth). Sister-in-law of the late Donald Toepfer (the late Kay Joyce) and the late Roy Toepfer (survived by Brenda). Proud grandmother of Kristy Jackson, Danielle Toepfer, Ginny Fisher, Kimberly Rivera, Jodi Powell, Jamie Lopiccolo, Jude Toepfer, Justin Toepfer, Jeremy Toepfer, Jill Trapani, Donald Juneau, Jeffrey Juneau, Noelle Engerson, Gregory Toepfer, Madison DeWitt, Molly Toepfer, Sarah Toepfer and the late Kirk Aromy and Thomas Toepfer. She is also survived and fondly remembered by her 24 great grandchildren, 10 nieces and nephews, and many cousins, relatives and dear friends.

Elois was born in New Orleans, LA and was a longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish before settling in Pearl River, LA. She found pleasure in the details of everyday life and caring deeply for others. She will always be remembered for her loyalty and dedication to her family, her caring and loving spirit, her laughter, and spoiling the grandchildren. She was a wonderful example of what it means to care for others and taught us that faith, hope and love can do amazing things. She will be deeply missed by us all.

Very special thanks to the staff of Passages Hospice for taking care of our mother. We are forever grateful for the loving care mom received from her longtime caregivers.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at OUR LADY OF PROMPT SUCCOR CHURCH, 2320 Paris Rd., Chalmette, LA on Monday, November 23rd from 10:00AM – 12:00PM, followed by a Funeral Mass beginning at 12:00PM. She will be laid to eternal rest in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.

Due to COVID-19, face masks and social distancing are required.

Mrs Toepher was the sweetest person. She always had a smile on her face. I loved and will miss our conversations. Love and prayers for her family.
