Ferdinand J. “Fred” Arieux , age 70, of Dothan, AL, passed away on Thursday, November 27, 2025, in Chalmette, Louisiana. Born on October 15, 1955, in New Orleans, Louisiana. Fred grew up in Carolyn Park in Arabi, where he played many sports and attended Chalmette High School where he excelled at baseball. He continued his baseball enthusiasm while attending George C. Wallace Junior College and graduated from Troy State University. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his two grandchildren.
Fred is survived by his wife of 46 years, Donna Sue Pitts of Headland, AL; his daughters, Lauren Arieux Bryan (James) and Natalie Arieux (Ashley Justice); his grandchild, Fox Ferdinand Bryan and step-grandson, Jamie Bryan, all of Nashville, TN; his sister, Robin Arieux-Lotz (Kenny); his niece, Karly Lotz, and his nephew/godson, Derek Lotz. He is preceded in death by his mother, Ruby Fiorello Arieux, and father, Ferdinand Joseph Arieux, Sr., and mother-in-law Sue Cutchen Pitts and father-in-law, Don Pitts of Headland, AL.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a celebration of life to be held at Union Springs Baptist Church, 1642 County Road 73, Newville, AL on Friday, January 9, 2026, at 2:00 p.m.
