Gasper Frank Giglio Jr. most beloved husband, son, father, brother, grandson and friend, went suddenly on October 1, 2022 at his home in Meraux, LA. He was born on July 28, 1966 in New Orleans, LA. He is survived by his loving and adoring wife Jennifer Berndt Giglio; his precious children Gasper Frank Giglio III (Katie), Garrett Frank Giglio (Brittany), Gage Frank Giglio Gomez and Gabrielle Reed (“S” Herman); granddaughter Rikki Reed; loving parents Charlotte and Gasper Frank Giglio Sr.; sisters Kim Caruso (Vincent) and Kelly Bou (Eddy); nieces Valerie, Krysta, Nicole and Natalie; great nieces and nephews Kinleigh, Peyton, Brady, Graham and Landon; many other family and friends; his Aunt Eunice Roques and his all-time “fav” uncle, Uncle Tony. Gasper is preceded in death by his grandparents Loretta and Anthony Cartaginese Sr. and Loretta and Anthony Giglio Sr.
Gasper was a native of St. Bernard who was known to the neighbors as “the little boy on the big wheel” growing up. Those who knew Gasper even briefly knew he wasn’t like anyone else. He was a spirited kind of individual, always a jokester with a very unique sense of humor. The stories his boys could tell are so numerous and we will hold them in our hearts and memories forever.
He loved Nascar and Motocross. He was Dale Earnhardt’s biggest fan. He was a mechanical genius and could fix anything with a paperclip (“another Mcguyver”). He was also a cologne connoisseur and you could smell him coming before he even walked in the room. He was a permanent fixture at the Pastry Pantry. He was very well known in the auto mechanic industry from Don Bohn Ford, Bill Watson and Advantage Ford and Crescent Ford Trucks. He truly enjoyed his work family and friends at Boasso Global for over 20 years. Although Gasper lived a very short life, he was tested by God many times by his strength, courage and passions. He will be truly missed by all who knew him.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at OUR LADY of PROMPT SUCCOR, 2320 Paris Road, Chalmette, LA on Friday, October 7, 2022 from 10:00 AM- 12:00 PM. A funeral mass will begin at 12:00PM.
