Glenn Clayton Daws Jr.

Glenn Clayton Daws Jr. passed away on Thursday, January 1, 2015 at the age of 45. He was the loving father of Gabriella “Gabby” Daws. Beloved son of Glenn C. Daws Sr. and the late Rosemary Cashman Daws. Brother of Angela D. Ansardi, Colleen D. Gamer (Jon), Justine Daws and Danette D. Simon (Ray). Uncle of Amy Oliver (Bryan), Jamie Campbell (Ashley), Donovan Calfee (Jodie), Derek Calfee, Destiny Simon, Amber Bopp, Robert Arena III and Alexandra Rose Arena. He is also survived and fondly remembered by many relatives, cousins and dear friends. Glenn was a native of New Orleans and a lifelong resident of St. Bernard Parish before settling in Hot Springs, AK after Hurricane Katrina. There, since 2006, he worked as a Physical Therapist Assistant at St Joseph's Outpatient Rehabilitation Department. He attended Southeastern Louisiana University and completed the physical therapy program at Delgado Community College in New Orleans. A competitive weight lifter with an interest in fitness training for active seniors, Glenn achieved a personal training fitness certification from The Deep South Fitness Alliance. Glenn 's love of sports inspired him to broaden his knowledge in orthopedic and neurological rehabilitation allowing him to help others to achieve their goals. He was also a basketball coach for his daughter's team. His love and compassion for others and their well-being will be deeply missed by all those whose lives he touched. Relatives, friends and employees of the Palms Casino & Truck Stop, Rocky & Carlos, Emerald Coast Eye Institute, Walgreens and Linda Lee Bridal are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Sunday, January 11th from 11:00AM – 1:00PM, followed by a Funeral Mass beginning at 1:00PM. He will be laid to rest in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens. Kind donations to a fund set up in Glenn's memory can be made to any Regions Bank.
