Born on January 15, 1948, in New Orleans, Louisiana, Glenn was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Jodie Planchard Lohfink to whom he was married for 40 years. Their marriage was a relationship of sincere faith, love, laughter, support for each other and their children. Glenn lived a life grounded in faith, family, and perseverance.
From an early age, Glenn developed a deep passion for baseball. His talent and dedication led to a six-year career in the minor leagues with the Boston Red Sox organization—an accomplishment he held with great pride. After retiring from professional play, he continued to share his love for the game as a coach, mentoring young athletes and leaving a lasting impression on those he guided.
Following his baseball career, Glenn worked in medical purchasing before transitioning into construction. His resilience and strong work ethic were especially evident after Hurricane Katrina in 2005 when he took it upon himself to rebuild his family’s home in Arabi.
A man of deep Catholic faith, Glenn found strength and purpose through prayer and spiritual devotion. His humility and compassion were reflected in his daily life and the care he extended to others.
Glenn was a devoted father to Glenn Scott Lohfink (Mandy), Jennifer Lohfink Burris (Joseph), and Robert “Rob” Planchard (Tiffanee). He cherished his grandchildren—Laine Lohfink, Ryder Planchard, and Marlee Lohfink—and took great joy in their lives.
He is fondly remembered by his siblings Darlene Dupre, Janice Lohfink, and David Lohfink (Sandra); brothers-in-law Rene Planchard (Gina) and Clifford Planchard (Mary); along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Frances and Bruce Lohfink Sr., brother Bruce Lohfink Jr. (Dianne), sister Janet Lohfink, and brother-in-law Alton Dupre.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 12, 2026 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at St. Bernard Memorial Gardens Virtue Street. A prayer service will follow at 12:00 PM in the chapel with interment afterward at the cemetery.
May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.
