Henry “Teta” Martinez Sr. gained his wings on Monday, July 4, 2016 at the age of 79. His final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that he had touched in some way throughout his life. He was the son of the late Joseph Martinez and Lillian Martinez Borden. Brother of the late Emmett Nunez and Glinda Kieff. Beloved husband of 43 years to Mona Lisa Martinez. Loving father of Timothy Martinez Sr. (Sharon), Zane Bryant Sr. (Mary), Sharon Taylor, Sharlene Taylor, Henry Martinez Jr. (Lori) and the late Anthony Martinez Sr. (Diane). He is also survived and fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins, grandchildren, great grandchildren and dear friends. Henry was a lifelong resident of St. Bernard Parish where he enjoyed a long career as a commercial fisherman. He will be forever remembered as a loving and loyal husband, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather and a friend of many, who treasured his family. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Saturday, July 9th from 10:00AM – 12:30PM, followed by a Funeral Mass beginning at 12:30PM. He will be laid to rest in St. Bernard Catholic Cemetery.
