Iris Mae Fayard

Iris Mae “Granny” Faust Findorff Fayard, age 86, passed away on Wednesday, January 6, 2016. She was a native of New Orleans and a resident of Chalmette since 1960. Mrs. Fayard was the daughter of the late Frank and Eunice Roth Faust; mother of Barbara Findorff Calcagno (Dean), Alvin “Bobby” Findorff, Jr. (Donna), Kevin Findorff, and the late Michael Findorff; grandmother of Dale and Scott Gerrick, Jesse, Thomas and Alvin III Findorff, Michael Findorff, Jr., Ashley Findorff Senko, and Jenna and Danielle Hyver; great-grandmother of 19; sister of Frankie B. Faust Morel, Gerry Faust Grush, and the late Donald Faust and Betty Faust Heinrich. She is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews and her faithful companion, Zippy. Mrs. Fayard was an accomplished seamstress. She sewed for several different carnival krewes, and the St. Bernard police and fire departments. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Monday, January 11, 2016 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm. A Funeral Service will begin at 1:00 pm in the Chapel. Mrs. Fayard will be laid to rest in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
