Irvan M. Melerine Sr.

for 37 years. Loving father of Glenda Saizan Borrello (Jerry), Sandy Reed Anderson, Sonny Saizan (Sherri), Barbara S. Rainey (David) and Irvan M. Melerine Jr. (Faten). Son of the late Joseph and Leontine Campo Melerine. Brother of Elaine Morales, Velma Bourg and the late Wilson Melerine, Clarence Melerine and Joseph Melerine. Proud grandfather of Craig Borrello, Christal Wilson, Kelly Bourg, Doug Reed Jr., Aimee Gogarty, Scott Saizan, Nicole Saizan Halverson, Ryan Saizan, Shane Saizan, Shanda Davis, Jennifer Menesses, Victoria Marshall, Matthew Melerine, Brandon Melerine and Sarah Melerine. Also survived by 22 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, many nieces, nephews and great friends. Loving friend of Cynthia Miller. Irvan was a native of New Orleans, LA and a lifelong resident of St.Bernard Parish. He retired from Exxon Mobil after 35 years of service. Irvan will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by his buddies at Charlie’s Diner and the Chalmette OTB. He had an infectious smile and a big heart to everyone around.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 from 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will begin at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
