

Jack James Breaux Sr. passed peacefully from this life on August 31, 2014 at the age of 92, surrounded by his family. He was born in New Orleans to the late Angelique Thibodeaux Breaux and Arthur Breaux. Beloved husband of almost 60 years of Mary Wehl Breaux; loving father of Aaron Breaux (Melony), Darryl Breaux (Denise), and Jack Breaux, Jr. (Erin.) Proud grandfather to Adam and Renee Breaux, Evan and Kara Breaux, and great-grandfather to Hunter and Hudson Blum and Ava Held. Devoted brother of Marjorie Triche (Herman.) He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Jack Breaux was graduated from Holy Cross High School and was awarded an athletic scholarship to LSU. While attending college, he began working for T. Smith and Sons (later Cooper/TSmith). During his 60 years with the company, Jack Breaux created and managed the mooring service. As one of the Vice-Presidents, he implemented and coordinated numerous social events, fostering good relationships with river businesses. Known for his honesty and integrity, he was respected and admired by all. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Fourth Degree. His sense of humor, his positive attitude, and his faith in God stayed with him throughout his life. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Saturday, September 6th from 9:00AM – 11:00AM, followed by a Funeral Mass beginning at 11:00AM.
