Joseph Edward Held II passed away on February 17, 2023, at the age of 31. He was the caring son of Hope Freire Held and Joseph Edward Held Sr.; brother of Cameron Paul Held (Aleisha Blache). Loving godfather of Saylor Layne Held; grandson to Edward III and Diane Held. He is survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins. Joey is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Lloyd Sr., and Yvonne Freire; fraternal grandparents, Joseph and Patricia Mackiewicz.
Joey graduated from Chalmette High School with honors and obtained a scholarship to Southeastern University pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering. He was a lifelong resident of St. Bernard Parish, where he enjoyed being on the boat as a commercial fisherman catching live shrimp for bait. Joey followed in his father footsteps and became an electrician. He had a grand personality and was very kindhearted toward anyone he came across. He was so loved by all and will be missed tremendously.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Monday, February 27, 2023, from 11:00AM- 1:00PM. A funeral service will begin at 1:00PM. Burial will be at a later date.
