Joyce Zaffuto

Joyce Mammelli Webster Zaffuto passed away on Sunday, November 16, 2014 at the age of 82. Wife by first marriage of the late Lonnie D. Webster, Jr. Beloved wife of Roy J. Zaffuto for 30 years. Loving mother of Frank D. Webster, Ronald M. Webster (Amy), Marie L. Webster, Marla Z. Macaluso and the late Cyrese Webster. Daughter of the late Nancy Costa Mammelli and Frank O. Mammelli. Sister of Frank J. Mammelli and the late Mary Ann M. Pons, Mae Mammelli Long, Nancy M. Ricker, Murphy S. Mammelli and Robert S. Mammelli. Grandmother of Elizabeth, Melissa (Steven), Kristina (Rodney), Katie (Paul), Kacey, Malinda, Brittney, Natalie, Emily, Erik (Barbie), Frank, and Sal. Great grandmother of Olivya, Justin, Meghan, Madeline, Taj, Laura, Ella, Wyatt, Audrey, Aubrey, Claire, Owen and the late Baby Steven M. Hoffmann II. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Zaffuto was born in New Orleans, LA and lived in South Carolina from 1953 to 1973 and Chalmette, LA from 1973 – 2005. She was a current resident of Covington, LA. Mrs. Zaffuto attended Mater Dolorosa Catholic School, McMain High School and Spencer Business College. She was Corresponding Secretary for Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Altar Society and a member of the Blue Army Society of Chalmette. Mrs. Zaffuto was also a former teacher of Confraternity of Christian Doctrine and a substitute teacher for St. Bernard Parish. She retired as Executive Secretary for the St. Bernard Parish Police Jury. Mrs. Zaffuto was also a Memory Photo Journalist. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at OUR LADY OF PROMPT SUCCOR CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2320 Paris Rd., Chalmette, LA on Friday, November 21, 2014 from 11:30 AM - 1:30 PM. A Funeral Mass will begin at 1:30 PM. Interment will follow in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
