Lorraine Louise Saavedra

Lorraine O'Brien Saavedra (Granny) went to be with our Lord on April 15, 2017 at the age of 90. She was born to Emma Devillier O'Brien & Jack O'Brien on October 1, 1926 in New Orleans. LA. Predeceased by her parents, loving husband Ruben Saavedra, siblings & 1 granddaughter. Beloved mother of Catherine, Emma, Ruben (Maddie), Richard (Debbie), Gladys (John), Ernest, Luke and Robert (Jan). Adored Granny of 12 grandchildren, Shelby, Sherry, Dawn, Shana, Julie, Richie, Joshua, Wendy, Terry, Ernie, Katie and John. 18 great grandchildren, Megan, Trisha, Colin, Stephanie, Kaylin, Paige, Tiffani, Ethan, Isabella, Michael, Lauren, Christopher, Richie, Mandie, Ellie, Taylor, Zack, Amiee and Rachel. 7 great-great grandchildren, Gavin, Emma, Trent, Aubree, Fabian, Zayah, Coby and 1 due in July. Lorraine loved her family, reading her bible, praying with everyone, going to the casino, bingo, dancing & singing. Our family would like to thank the owners & entire staff of Ferncrest Manor for the loving care given to Granny. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Tuesday, April 25th from 10:00AM – 1:00PM, followed by a funeral service in her memory beginning at 1:00PM. She will be laid to rest with her beloved husband in St. Roch Cemetery No. 1.
