Louis J. Schenck Jr., a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps who proudly served his country as a Sargent during the Korean War, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2021 at the age of 90. He was the beloved husband of the late Evelyn C. Schenck. Loving father of Debra S. Maiaro (Al), Louis Schenck III, Gary Schenck (Vickie) and Michael Schenck. Son of the late Mary Hill Schenck and Louis Schenck Jr. Brother of the late Shirley Schenck. He is also survived and fondly remembered by his 4 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, along with many cousins, relatives and dear friends.
Louis was born in New Orleans, LA and was a longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish. He graduated Nichols High School in 1948 and received his Bachelor of Business Studies Degree from Tulane University in 1970. He enjoyed a long career and retired from G.M.A.C. He loved hunting, fishing and snow skiing, but above all else, he loved spending time with his grandkids and great grandkids. He will be deeply missed by his family and by all those whose lives he touched.
Louis was laid to rest in a private ceremony with military honors in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
