Marietta Anne Mones Roussell

Marietta Anne Mones Roussell passed away on Saturday, November 5, 2022 at the age of 84. She was the cherished wife of the late Mitchell H. Roussell. Loving mother of Deirdre Groby (John), Kevin Roussell Sr. (Jeanette), Allen Roussell Sr. (Ida) and Mitchell P. Roussell Sr. (Jeannie). Proud grandmother of Kevin Roussell Jr. (Kristy), Katie Allement (James), Jacob Groby IV (Jamie), Nelson Roussell, Kelli Watson (Stephen), Justin Groby ( Sondra), Allen Roussell Jr., Sarah Groby (D. J.), Maggie Roussell (Drew), Allison Roussell (Roger), Brooke Roussell (Kane), Emma Cooper (Devin), Mitchell Roussell Jr. and Madelynn Roussell; great grandmother of Leeya, Gabrielle, Elizabeth, Kevin Jude, Abigail, Sydney Marie, Ethan, Roger, Natalie Bryce, Emily, Brayden, Rowan, Sienna, Marcelo, Alaina, Eva, Alyssa, Olive, Noah and Arlo; her sister, Patricia Mones Brown (Kennith). She is also survived and fondly remember by her nieces and nephews. Marietta is preceded in death by her parents, Eva Robin Mones and Alvin J. Mones; her siblings, Eloise Marie Mones and Alvin A. Mones.

Marietta was born on August 7, 1938 in New Orleans, LA. She worked for St. Bernard School District for 34 years, many of those years was spent at Chalmette High School as the secretary. She was an avid book reader, amazing dancer and love shopping for any and everything she could find. Marietta enjoyed going to the casino with her husband. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends. She will be deeply missed by us all.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial gathering to be held at ST. BERNARD CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2805 Bayou Rd., St. Bernard, LA on Thursday, November 17, 2022 from 10:00 AM- 12:00 PM. A memorial mass will begin at 12:00 PM. Burial will follow in St. Bernard Catholic Cemetery.
