

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ramona Couture Fleetwood, 62, of Chalmette, Louisiana, who left us on Friday, January 31, 2025. A devoted wife, and mother, Ramona’s life was a testament to love, compassion, and selflessness.
Ramona was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, and spent her life in the community she loved. She was known for her unwavering dedication to her family and her profound love for children. As a caregiver, Ramona touched countless lives with her nurturing spirit and tender care. Whether it was tending to the needs of her family or offering a helping hand to friends, Ramona’s heart always seemed to be in the right place. Her home was a sanctuary for those who needed it.
Ramona’s love for children was immeasurable. She worked tirelessly to ensure the well-being of every child in her care, offering not just physical attention, but emotional support, guidance, and love. Her ability to make each child feel important and valued left a lasting impression on all who crossed her path. Her heart swelled with pride for her own children, who were the light of her life, and she was a cherished grandmother to her beloved grandchildren.
Family was everything to Ramona. She was the cornerstone of her household, the one who kept everyone connected and ensured that love and joy filled every room. Her strength and devotion as a mother, sister, and friend were unparalleled, and she had an incredible ability to make everyone feel like they mattered.
Ramona’s passing leaves a void that cannot be filled, but her legacy of love, care, and devotion will live on through the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know her. She is survived by her loving husband of twenty-two years Frank Giovingo; her children Corey Fleetwood (Jacqueline), Nicholas Giovingo, and Chrissy Giovingo; her siblings Kimberly Rebouche (Kenneth), and Gerald Couture Jr. (Rose); her grandchild Chassis Adams; and her nieces and nephews whom she loved as her grandchildren, Penelope Dyer, Scarlett Rebouche, Rachael Rebouche, Alexis Rebouche, Chae Edwards (Matt), Mia Edwards, and Gerald “Tre” Couture III.
She is preceded in death by her parents Gerald John Couture Sr. and Catherine Marie Moore Couture.
Ramona will be dearly missed, but her love and her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who loved her. Rest in peace, Ramona. You will never be forgotten.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue Street, Chalmette, LA 70043 on Friday, February 14, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A Catholic funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL GARDENS.
