Ruth Weiss Drewes

Ruth Weiss Drewes passed away peacefully on Friday, April 22, 2016 at the age of 88. She was the cherished wife of the late Edward H. Drewes Sr. Beloved mother of Wayne Drewes (Sherry), Patricia Catalano (Tony) and the late Edward Drewes Jr., Claude W. Drewes and Patrick Drewes. Sister of Adeline Minotto and the late George Weiss, Robert Weiss and Harry Weiss. Daughter of the late George and Helen Dye Weiss. Proud grandmother of Brian Drewes (Taryn), Nathan Drewes, Vanessa Schaeffer (Michael), Brittany Schlett, Candice Martin (Zachary), Laurie Drewes and Lisa Snyder. Great grandmother of Julian Drewes, Logan Schaeffer, Alora Schaeffer and Zachary Bordelon. She is also survived and fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Ruth was a native of Philadelphia, PA, a longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish currently residing with her daughter Patricia in Groveland, FL. Ruth was a longtime and former member of Creedmoor Presbyterian Church. She was well loved and will be forever remembered as a loving and loyal wife, mother, grandmother and sister, who treasured her family. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Friday, April 29th from 11:00AM – 1:00PM, followed by a celebration of Ruth’s life beginning at 1:00PM. She will be laid to rest with her husband Edward in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
