It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Shawn Marie Behrens- Beaugez, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, who passed away peacefully at the age of 62. Shawn brought joy and warmth wherever she went. Her smile could light up a room, and her laugh was the kind that stayed with you. She loved the simple pleasures in life—sharing her morning coffee, the thrill of a good bingo game, and the hope that her favorite Pick 4 numbers would hit. The beach was her happy place, where she found peace in the sound of the waves and the warmth of the sun. She was known for her love of music and dancing, especially when the local band played at the neighborhood bar. You could often find her tapping her foot to the beat, surrounded by friends and family. At home, she cherished quiet moments spent cuddling up with her dogs, playing a game of rummy or Yahtzee with loved ones.
Over the years, Shawn worked at a life insurance company—a role she approached with pride and responsibility and later as a waitress where her kindness and quick wit earned her many regulars. Above all, Shawn was devoted to her family. She was a loving wife, a supportive mother, and a proud grandmother. Her strength, humor, and unconditional love will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
She leaves behind her husband, Rodney Beaugez Jr.; her children, Brittney Roppolo and Patricia Behrens; her grandchildren, Sebastien Behrens, Isaiah Mangano, Christopher Behrens, Makayla Mangano and Logan Savage; her siblings, Judith Roppolo Blanchard and Placido G. Roppolo; her godchildren, Melissa Kellum Bourg and Nickcole Kellum Frught; her many nieces, nephews and extended family members and friends who will carry her memory in their hearts. Shawn is preceded in death by her first late husband David Behrens; her parents, Anthony Roppolo and Anna Rose Bertucci Roppolo; her brother, Dominick G. Stevens.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial gathering to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Sunday, July 6, 2025, from 11:00AM – 1:00PM, followed by a Memorial Service in Shawn’s memory beginning at 1:00PM.
