

Shirley Mae Ravain Campbell was called home on January 19, 2025, at the age of 94. She was born on October 28, 1930, in LaRose, Louisiana to the late Flavie Savoie and Alvin Clarence Ravain. She was married to late Gerald “Jerry” Joseph Campbell, Sr. for 43 years, her one true love. She resided in Arabi, Louisiana for 70 years. She is preceded in death by son, Gerald “Jed” Joseph Campbell, Jr. and great granddaughter Brylee. She is survived by her children Carolyn “Chi Chi” Williams (Keith) and Michael Joseph Campbell, Sr. (Sharon). Grandmother to Cher Brownfield (Scott), Blair Castro (Nick), Joseph John Williams III (Shannon), Michael Joseph Campbell, Jr. (Kelly). Great Grandmother to Lauren Brownfield, Peyton Brownfield, Wyatt Campbell and Ryder Miley. Her brother Michael A. Ravain (Joy) and nephews Michael C. and Adam Ravain. Shirley was a dedicated member to the Council on Aging in Chalmette, could talk to anyone, never met a stranger, made the best Red Beans and Rice, loved the color Red, King Cake, Coca Cola and collecting Angels. Played cards on Friday nights for over 50 years with a wonderful group of women whom she loved as sisters. She performed in two plays as a member of the St. Bernard Silver Linings Senior Acting Troupe and loved going to the Palms casino to gamble a bit, she was a social butterfly. The Family would like to thank Summerfield Andersons staff and administration for the wonderful care and loving environment she was given for the past 7 months. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial gathering for Shirley on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. VIRTUE STREET, in Chalmette, from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM. A memorial service will be held in her memory at 1:00 PM. She will be laid to rest in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
